European OpenTable Competitor Restalo Raises $10m Series B Round

Barcelona-based online restaurant reservation service Restalo, has just raised a $10 million Series B round from Seaya Ventures, that takes a seat on the Board, and existing investor ACTIVE Venture Partners.

Barcelona-based online restaurant reservation service Restalo, has just raised a $10 million Series B round from Seaya Ventures, that takes a seat on the Board, and existing investor ACTIVE Venture Partners. Together with its first round of financing worth $1.3 million in 2011, this takes the total amount raised to date to $11.3 million.

Founded in 2009, Restalo is Southern Europe´s fastest growing provider of real-time online restaurant reservations for diners and cloud-based reservation and guest management solutions for restaurants.

With more than 8,000 restaurant customers and 1 million active users, Restalo also powers online reservations for nearly 200 partners, including many of the internet’s most popular global brands such as TimeOut and TripAdvisor.

Restalo plans to use this new round of funding to consolidate its leading position in Spain and Italy, expand to new markets and put more emphasis on its mobile applications. The company is also announcing the launch of its new website before the end of the year.
