Venture capital companies from Catalonia start looking beyond the Spanish market. Molins Capital Inversión (MCI), the company owned by Molins Gil family, the owners of Cementos Molins, just closed its first foreign transaction. MCI has led in the financing round of EUR 1.25 million, invested in the Danish software company StoreVision-Europe Holding. The Catalan venture capital firm invested EUR 800,000; the rest has been provided by the British and German entrepreneurs that will become distributors of the service in their respective countries.

The company has developed software combined with a camera used to reduce losses caused by thieves or errors that occur in the supermarkets. StoreVision technology is focused on the transactions that take place at the cash registers. With this device, companies can identify the causes of the losses and lower them by 30% and 40%. The company, based in Copenhagen, has also offices in Great Britain, Holland and Iceland.

This round of fundraising is a key factor to accelerate the development of StoreVision on the European level. The company expects to close this year with sales of EUR 1 million, 78% more than during the previous year.
